Upcoming Google Algorithm Update

Mobile Matters

mobile devices

Google will be releasing an update to their algorithm in April and it will emphasize the importance of mobile friendliness. Google’s algorithm is what they use to determine a site’s ranking. When they update in April they will be doling out penalties to sites that do not have proper mobile websites.

If your website cannot be easily viewed and navigated on a mobile device, you could lose important keyword rankings. In preparation for the update, Google released the following list of pitfalls to avoid with your mobile website:

  • Blocked JavaScript, CSS and image files
  • Unplayable content
  • Faulty redirects
  • Mobile-only 404s
  • App download interstitials
  • Irrelevant cross-links
  • Slow mobile pages

So what does this mean for you as a roofing company owner? It means you MUST have a responsive webdesign. A responsive design allows your site to be viewed on any mobile device with equal ease (and you don’t lose any of your important content).

At Roofing Webmasters we provide a responsive web design for every single one of our clients. Talk to us today about how to avoid losing rankings in April. We can help you dominate online and stay there!
